CONIC - Software Description
CONIC is a free tool for studying the concepts of IP Addressing covered in Chapter 21 of Dr. Comer’s book, Computer Networks and Internet 5th Edition. CONIC is aimed for users intending on gaining a hands-on understanding of class full addressing, classless addressing and special addresses.
The CONIC software covers Network programming and Animated Basics.
Programming
Users can write their own source code and link it to CONIC. Provided along with is detailed help for the following:
- Binary conversion
- Address Mask
- Special Addresses
- Network Address
Basics
This menu covers flash based animations of the following:
- IP Addressing concepts are explained in animated way.
- At the end of each concept, evaluation exercises are given. Using the exercises, user can evaluate their performance.
